I like to Travel and some of my favorite places are Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Venice, Florence, Rome and London. I have some travel pictures and what I hope are some useful links on my Travel Page.

In the summer of 1997, I attended the IFTR Conference in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico. The hospitality was amazing and it was an outstanding meeting. The after-conference tour to Mexico City was great fun. The picture below shows me with Dr. Valerie Lucas part way up the Pyramid of the Moon at Teotihuacán.

In the summer of 1998, I returned to England to study in Stratford-upon-Avon, to attend the SIBMAS conference in London, and the International Federation for Theatre Research meeting in Canterbury.

In the summer of 1999, I joined Clifford Ashby and a group of scholars on a trip to Greece and Turkey where we visited over sixty theatre sites. I have set up a special Website with a detailed itinerary of the trip with links to further information. I have also put information about this trip on my Theatre History Page and I've set up a page of specific travel tips for Greece and Turkey.

In 2000, I visited Ashland, Oregon and The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and attended the ATHE meeting in Washington (where I made a presentation on the cult theatre of the Kabeirion). Later, I attended the Frank Matcham conference at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas on the Isle of Man, the IFTR meeting in Lyon and the SIBMAS meeting in Paris.

In 2001 I traveled to Krakow, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Sydney, Australia for the IFTR meeting and in 2002 I attended the IFTR meeting in Amsterdam. In 2003 I visited Jaipur for the IFTR meeting and the International Conference on Scenography in Prague.

Next year I hope to attend the IFTR meeting in St. Petersburg.

I enjoy reading MysteriesPBS

I like boats and boating and I'd like to retire on a Narrowboat but I'm not quite ready to take the plunge. The picture shows narrowboats moored along the Paddington Canal in London's Little Venice.

Interests: I also like seeing plays, photography, and collecting clocks and masks. I have taken almost all of the photographs on these pages.
