Ronnie Baker Brooks Debut Solo CD Now Available on the Internet
Ronnie Baker Brooks has released his long awaited and
highly anticipated solo CD titled GOLDDIGGER (WD 337:01) on the newly formed Watchdog
Records label.
GOLDDIGGER was produced by Jellybean Johnson, whose previous projects
included such notable artists as Janet Jackson, Nona Hendrix, New Edition, and many
others. It was recorded at Cotton Row Recordings in Memphis, TN, and features twelve
original songs, all composed, arranged, and co-produced by Ronnie. His
legendary father, bluesman Lonnie Brooks, joined him on the track, "Make These
Blues Survive," and Jellybean Johnson is featured on "Must've Been
Bought."
Ronnie's lightning fast riffs and soulful style are influenced by a number
of genres including blues, rock, R & B and gospel. RealAudio sound samples are
available on his website at RonnieBakerBrooks.com
as well as biographical, tour, and merchandise information.
At an early age, Ronnie got his first lessons in
the blues. "While Dad was writing some of his first tracks for Alligator Records, he
would place Ronnie on a mat and a bass guitar on his lap next to him. Ronnie, then knew to
strum the strings on the guitar with his tiny hands to provide Lonnie with a rhythm
backup. He finally joined his fathers band and became an accomplished vocalist, guitarist,
and song writer. His dad has given Ronnie his blessings to "keep these blues
alive."

"As you listen to his CD, you feel and hear the presence of the
many blues artists he knew and loved. You will also feel the soul that went into this CD,
and know that Ronnie will never forget to 'KEEP THESE BLUES ALIVE!' His live
performances are spirited and a show stopper all wrapped up into one. We can expect great
and wonderful things to happen for him!"
