Troop 40 trip to Perryville
October 9th -10th, 2009

Friday: On Friday, we loaded up the cars with the gear and we drove to Perryville. There were only seven scouts on this trip and four adults. When we arrived at our campsite, we fond out that we were camping on a part of the actual battlefield. There were some fireworks being set off in the distance and we watched them and set up our tents. Then, we went to bed.
Saturday: On Saturday, we got up and
had breakfast. Then, we went to the areas where the battlefield, museum, and re-enactors
were. At the museum, they had videos and artifacts from both soldiers and the
battle. Outside of the museum, they had a stand were you could buy homemade
root beer and cream soda. Dillon Gregg especially enjoyed going to there and
buying the cream ale, which they had labeled “Odin Ale” on the bottle. Then, we
went back and had lunch. After lunch, we returned to the site to see the
reenactment. After that, we looked at the
Sunday: On Sunday, we got up and had breakfast. Then, we went back to the stand to buy more root beer. While we were on this trip, we worked on the American Heritage merit badge. After discussing it and talking about the badge, we packed up and went home.
