Troop 40 Nolin Lake Trip

August 21st to 23rd 2009

Bill Fenton: Troop Historian

Friday: On Friday, we arrived at the camp site and set up camp.

Saturday: On Saturday, we woke up and cooked breakfast. Then, everyone went to the lake. While the new scouts were taking the motorboating merit badge with Mr. Hardesty and Mr. Read, the rest of the scouts were swimming, sailboating, kayaking, tubing with Dr. McClave and Mr. Edwards, and waterskiing and kneeboarding with Mr. Smith. This trip had unseasonably cool weather but the water was warm.

On this trip we had some guests. One funny story with the guests was when Sierra Thompson beat Jordan Bayens in tubing twice when they went one-on-one. Mr. Gregg brought the sailboats with him. The scouts spent most of the day in the lake and playing with the three dogs that were brought along on the trip. Cooper Whaley found a latern in the lake. Trey Sexton arrived without his gear. Towards the end of the day, everyone got out and cooked dinner. Afterwards, everyone sat around and talked and then went to bed.

Sunday: On Sunday, everyone got up and cooked breakfast. Then the scouts went down to the lake and played for a while. Some scouts went tubing while others stayed and swam at camp.  After that, the campsite was taken down and cleaned and everyone loaded the trailer and got on the bus to go home.
