We had a really good weekend at Bill Minor’s place.  The bus trip up there was as calm as it always is; which is not very calm at all.  Saturday was gorgeous, the temperature was perfect and there were not very many clouds out.  Later that day Mr. Minor came up on an A.T.V to see how we were doing.  He said that he was ready to take a couple of people up the hill to go horseback riding.  About twenty minutes later we were on our way to the old barn to get the saddles, bits, etc.  After that we went to get the horses.  Mr. Minor got the horses out of the pen and put the gear on them.  Before we started riding we walked them around the field for a little while so the horses got used to us.  Trail riding is fun and a bit challenging, I learned that canter rhythm is easier than trot rhythm.  It was fun to go up and down hills but a bit nerve racking to go up really steep hills.  When we were done and almost to the campsite it started to pour and within seconds we were drenched! The rain was pretty much was off and on after that. The older boys played with a Frisbee when it was not raining.  We never got to shoot because the field we were going to shoot in had a bunch of metal equipment that could ricochet the bullets, but maybe it will work out next time.  Mr. Minor is a really generous man, he took as much of his time as he could to take us horseback riding when he had to go back to town. He has a really cool place and he is really nice to share it with everyone. This was a really great trip and I can’t wait for the next one.
