2010-11 Professional Development Opportunities

The Kentucky Council and its Centers offer training for teachers through professional development offerings, approved by the Kentucky Department of Education.  These professional development workshops focus on KCEE curricula that have been aligned with the Core Content and can guide teachers as they integrate economics, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy into subjects like, social studies, math, arts and humanities, practical living, language arts, science, business, and economics. 

Registration is required for ALL workshops! All workshops are FREE unless otherwise indicated.
 Workshops are offered by KCEE, Centers for Economic Education, and partnering organizations.

Stock Market Game
 Learn how to teach Math, Social Studies, & Practical Living content applications
that relate to real-world investing!

 When:        Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm
Where:       Murray State University, Room 201, Business Building North, 16th Street, Murray, Kentucky
 

 In The Stock Market Game? (SMG), student teams in grades 4-12 receive a virtual $100,000 to invest in stocks and mutual funds using a real-world Internet simulation.  SMG can be taught as an enrichment activity, a project-based activity, or teams of teachers can incorporate different aspects of SMG into their own curriculum as an interdisciplinary project.  Enhance your math, social studies, language arts, personal finance and technology classes.

 Workshop participants will receive Professional Development certificates, a light supper, and loads of free resources, AND ?Free Team certificate? door prizes.  Pre-registration is required online at  register online or email: msu.econed@murraystate.edu .
