Nolin Lake, August 2002

This was a great trip on the lake. We camped on the side of the lake for two nights.  We had three big boats there, Mr. Cullen’s pontoon, Mr. Storks ski boat, and Mr. McClave’s ski boat. We also had two small fishing boats, one being Mr. Hardesty’s and the other Mr. Cullen’s. Everyone got a chance to ski, tube, kneeboard, and wakeboard. We even had some guys get the Motor Boating Merit Badge, and some get the Skiing Merit Badge. Mr. Stork’s boat was great for pulling the skiers, everyone who wanted to got up or at least tried to ski. Most of the younger guys kneeboarded. Mr. Edwards even gave kneeboarding a try. He was good, but that didn’t last for very long.

Mr. McClave pulled the tubes. Usually we had five people out on the tubes at once, so everyone go a turn at trying to stay on the tube. Almost everyone got thrown off at least once. We also had five of Mr. McClave’s kayaks on the beach for everyone’s use. Everyone got to paddle them, some liking the kayaks more than others.

We had about twenty Scouts attend the trip, some arriving late, some leaving early. Luckily it did not rain this trip, even though the forecast called for thunderstorms. We had perfect weather for being out on the water and in camp.
