Bloggage, rants, and occasional notes of despair

Can you say, "fiery death"?

From the For Your Eyes Only newsletter, via a correspondent:

March 27, 2002; In an ominous development, the U.S. has placed orders for an
additional (beyond normal use) 311 million gallons of fuel. For the 1991
Gulf War, additional purchases amounted to 340 million gallons. Most of the
current purchase is for jet fuel, to be delivered to American bases in
Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Gulf States and Diego Garcia. Normal annual
purchases of fuel for U.S. forces in this part of the world are about 630
million gallons.

Tremble, Hussein.  You're going down.  European elites will speak in shocked tones that we still think of this world as the Wild West.  American leftists will march and shout and chant "No blood for oil!"

But none of them will offer you succor, or a place of refuge.  And none of them will save you.

I gloat.
