Mac Thomason, a eminently well-written man (even if he is a liberal :) ) nonetheless manages to push one of my buttons in attempting to define his politics:
But then, I supported the Gulf War -- or what I guess we'll be calling Gulf War I pretty soon -- at the time.Actually, I think we should be calling it Gulf War II now; there was that little tiff between Iraq and Iran in the 80s. The fact that there were no U.S. troops involved doesn't mean that we should overlook it
(I should note that this is but one sentence in a long piece. I could take exception to some of the other things he writes, too, but they call for reasoned discourse rather than snippy comments.)
