The Penn State Club of Kentucky will meet at Buffalo Wild Wings (BW3) to watch Penn State Football games. It is located at 12901 Shelbyville Road, Middletown (not St. Matthews) - Phone 254-9464 (Behind the Blockbuster Video, ½ mile from the Gene Snyder Freeway).

Making a difference in our community

We're looking for ways to improve the scholarship fund, in addition to the Scholarship Raffle held this year. We were able to award a $1000.00 scholarship this past year. When you join this year, please consider adding a few dollars to the fund.

Annual Spring Dinner May 21, 2005

Location: Louisville Zoo, African Outpost

This year's dinner provided us with a refreshing change of venue and activities. We took a short tour with a guide to a selected area within the zoo. Dinner was be followed by a short annual meeting of the chapter and then by our distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Walczak.

Dr. John Walczak is Director of the Louisville Zoo. Dr. Walczak graduated from Penn State with a degree in Animal Sciences. A native of Cleveland, he was head zookeeper of the Dreher Park Zoo in West Palm Beach. Fl from 1979 to 1981 and then was supervisor of the aquarium at the zoo in Oklahoma City from 1982 to 1985. He then joined the Louisville Zoo and was named assistant director managing operations in 1992. In 2004, he was named Zoo director.

Dr. Walczak was largely responsible for bringing the Zoo it's first endangered species, the Cuban crocodile. He also helped design the HerpAquarium and Gorilla Forest.
