Nage

Just as Uke means to protect, nage means to throw. Nage is the person who executes the throw. In beginning practice Uke normally attacks Nage but in advanced practice that is not the case. In advanced practice Attack and Defense loose their meaning. The partners are engaged in the dance which is very dynamic even if there is no movement.
