Shomen Tsuki

An upward stab from Uke's waist to Nage's neck or head. This stab is not followed by a strike with the opposite hand. The logic is that if the knife misses Uke will continue to try to cut Nage by following Nage's movement. Usually this is a Shomen Uchi cut down. For this reason Shomen Tsuki can be the first half of Shomen Uchi and is sometimes called Shomen Uchi. This move is frequently done with an empty hand but it is still treated as a stab.
