- Fig. 1 shows the start of the movement from a casual stance
- Fig. 2 is the Kuta Punch..
- Fig. 3 shows the Pendulum step. The hands are just grabbing the bag. For a real technique the back (right) inside forearm might strike but frequently neither hand strikes after the Kuta punch. Nage's body is rotating counterclockwise making a strike with the Nage's left hand difficult.

- Fig. 4 shows the first Tenkan Step. The foot work will vary depending on the technique and the dynamics of the situation. The bag is much harder to throw than a person because it does not have an off balance line and it is heavy with a low center of gravity.
- Fig. 5 shows the end of the 2nd tenkan step. The bag was not dropped on the floor to prevent damaging the bag.
