A Reflex Reaction is the body's natural response to a stimulus without conscious effort and usually without conscious knowledge. This is the basis of Aiki as expressed in Unbendable Arm. It is also basic to Kuta as expressed in Startle Reflex. In SCARS/CFC this is called Autokinematic Reaction and refers to how a person responds to being hit. In SCARS Reflex Reaction is a fundamental aspect of the system. They do not actually strike each other but the person being hit acts out the normal Reflex Reaction to the strike.
In Aikido this is done to some extent. Most Aikido strikes are to the head or throat so the persons being hit are supposed to move as if a full power strike really hit them. This is not basic to Aikido and many Aikidoka do not do this.
Kuta takes the Reflex Reaction even further by modifying the response to a strike to the head into a counter attack in much the same way they modify the Startle Reflex into strikes and kicks. In Aikikuta the Kuta reflex modification will be extended to the response to all strikes and kicks.
