The Environment and the Economy is a 3 1/2 -day residential program for middle and high school teachers designed to help integrate an understanding of environmental issues into classroom discussion.  Focus of the program is to present an understanding of how market forces may be used to solve environmental issues.  

The program is structured as a business conference and incorporates a blend of learning activities including hands-on classroom activities, lectures, simulations and a one-day field trip.  All materials and activities have been developed specifically for this program.  The program is free, as are most meals and double-occupancy rooming for participants. Teachers can earn up to 3 graduate credit hours through Northern Kentucky University.  (Contact lang@nku.edu for more information about graduate credit.)
