Add competitive excitement to your classroom! The KCEE Personal Finance Challenge is an opportunity for grades 9-12 high school students to demonstrate their knowledge of personal finance by competing against other students across the state in multiple-choice and quiz bowl challenges.   

Preliminary/Qualifying Round - Teachers will register their teams to participate in this online qualifying round. Teachers will indicate teams of four (3 will also be OK).   In this qualifying online round, individual students will complete a quick 30-minute, 50 question quiz that covers topics in income, money management, spending and credit, and saving and investing. Students will take the online quiz individually, and we will combine each team's score (dropping the lowest score and average the other 3 scores and come up with a "team" score). The preliminary/qualifying round will be available TBA.

State Challenge
 The top six highest-scoring teams in the state will advance to the state challenge hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis-Louisville Branch. 
 (Teachers have the discretion of substituting team members to advance if necessary.) The State Challenge will be a series of quiz bowl, buzzer-round competitions to determine the state winner. Student participants receive certificates of recognition and the first place team wins a school trophy and advance to the National Challenge in St. Louis, Missouri..

National Challenge - The state winning team will advance to the National Personal Finance Challenge held in St. Louis, MO on May________.Travel and hotel expenses will be paid for by Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation.

To participate, teachers must register online.

Preliminary/Qualifying Round | March
Students will compete individually in the online qualifying round, then the teams' scores will be averaged (dropping the lowest score if there are 4 team members.) Then, the six highest-scoring teams across the state will compete in the State Personal Finance Challenge. 

State Personal Finance Challenge | ________
The six top-scoring teams from the preliminary online round will compete in the state championship, which will be a quiz-bowl round hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis-Louisville Branch in Louisville.

National Personal Finance Competition | May ____ | St. Louis, MO
The state champion will be invited to participate in the first National Personal Finance Competition in St. Louis, MO against the winning teams from other participating states. Hotel and transportation are paid for by Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation.
