Olga Ivanova Miller, Ph.D.


Olga has been an educator for nearly forty years. For twenty-three years, she worked as a professor of mathematics at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (now, Ukrainian National Technical University). Besides teaching higher mathematics, Olga has taught piano, ballet, yoga-gymnastics, and Russian language.

In June of 1992, Olga traveled to New York where she had friends from Kiev. Three years later she moved to Delta Junction, Alaska where she worked for the University of Alaska, teaching intermediate algebra and Russian language. In July of 1998, she returned to Kiev for a five-month visit. She returned to the US, living in the Sierra-Nevada Mountains of California, searching for a position as a professor of mathematics at a US college or university. She has a green card with permanent resident alien status in the US.

Olga educated two children, a daughter and a son, who specialized in music. Both have gained laureate status in international competitions. Tatiana and her husband are pianists working at the Kiev Lysenko Music School for talented children. Six of their students have gained laureate status in international competitions. Olexandr is a talented violinist working as a violin teacher and performer in New York City.
